hey dude! been following for a bit and was interested in knowing if you got anything for artists who don't seem to grow on any platform at all? lol, I try using tags and stuff but nobody sees my stuff and it's getting to me... you have such a chill vibe and I see you engage a lot of people and I was wondering if you got any word of advice for someone who wants to do the same? love your art !! cheers!

So I think something to ALWAYS keep in mind so you don't beat yourself up is that The Algorithm is rude and is hard to follow or keep in time with on platforms - and it's different on all platforms too! I don't really understand how it works, but it is something that can mess with who sees your work!

However, I think a great way to ALWAYS get some engagement is making fanart! People are always going to come together over common interests and one of the easier ways to get eyeballs on your work is making fanart for work and things you also enjoy!

For example, I definitely make lots of things with my ocs, but SO much work I also love to make and share is fanart! And I feel like that is generally how people end up finding my work here! And a lot of those people stick around probably because they have similar tastes to what I enjoy and see more things they like either in other fanart I post or in the work I make myself! So they'll stay for that too! I know it's such a basic thing, but I really think it's always best to draw things you enjoy because people will always find you! And drawing fanart that you enjoy is an awesome way to do that!

And also - never feel bad about reboosting/reblogging your own work! Again - The Algorithm is weird and sometimes people will just miss your stuff depending on when they open the app! So never feel bad about reblogging it again! There's so many artists who I follow who I will see a piece of their work for the first time and it's their own reblog of it! I'll just miss the original posting - so please boost your stuff!

I feel like I'm missing something, but I feel like these are two things that are really helpful to finding people to share your work with! Social media is tough on artists and it's only been getting more annoying - but there ARE still communities out here that you will break into! And I think making work of things people can connect to is a great way to do that! 💖
